VITAL POINTS FOR CRYMYCH

Division 1 West
Felinfoel 44 Crymych 39

The winning run may have come to an end but Crymych will not worry too much about that as the bonus points gained away at the champions elect was a very satisfying pick up and could well prove to be the difference between staying up and going down.
The Preselimen put themselves in a very strong position after producing an excellent all round team performance in the opening fifty minutes but Felinfoel proved that they are championship winning material and they eventually overcame the challenge of their opponents to win by five points.
The pain of defeat was soon made easier with the news that both their relegation rivals in Tycroes and Kidwelly had suffered losses and Crymych, who are second from bottom are now just six points behind third from bottom Kidwelly (allwalessport) but crucially the Pembrokeshire men have three games in hand.
The Preselimen were deservedly ahead at the break leading by 27-22 at the interval and played some very smart rugby and ran the ball at every opportunity and added another try soon after the restart but Felinfoel came back strongly in the final quarter.
For Crymych there were tries by hard tackling centre Carwyn Phillips who crossed twice, young hooker Lee Griffiths, winger Lawrence Headlam and a penalty try along with four conversions and two penalties by centre Jake Jenkins.
The tries for Felinfoel were scored by centre Joel Hutchings who claimed a brace, flanker Connor Ford, second row Jordan Evans and replacements Matthew Moore and Glen Williams as well as a penalty try. Stand off Aled Roberts slotted over two conversions and a penalty.
The race to avoid relegation hots up this weekend as nearest rivals Tycroes who are almost certain to go down entertain Kidwelly and a home win would come as a major boost to Crymych who are also in league action and they take on Pembrokeshire rivals Tenby at Parc Lloyd Thomas.
