THE streets of Cardigan were packed last night for the carnival beer barrel relay race.
Nine brave teams of six took up the challenge to race from the Guildhall along Pendre, cheered on by visitors and locals who packed the pavements all the way down.
Following the four heats, teams from Crymych Rugby Club, Penparc YFC, Tonnau Surf and Jewsons qualified for the final, with the lads from Crymych Rugby Club running out the winners with a commanding display.
Tonnau Surf were runners-up, followed by Penparc and Jewsons.
The winners were presented with their trophy and prize by race sponsors Mantle Brewery.
